What is the fee for recreation soccer?

The annual Copper Mountain Soccer® (CMS) fee is $105 per child. Early bird price is $95 before June 15th. This fee is so low because we believe passionately in offering the most affordable price possible for quality youth soccer in the State of Utah. The full-year fee includes both Fall and Spring season registration, player uniform and a soccer ball. You will need to purchase cleats and shinguards (required). Personal checks, cash, Venmo, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

Can my child be on the same team as a friend?

Maybe. Players wanting to play on the same team as a friend or neighbor MUST have a parent volunteer coach. Requests to play together will be considered ONLY if a parent will coach. Every effort will be made to accommodate friend requests, but requests cannot be guaranteed.

Can I request a coach?

Yes. The number of players on rosters is limited and cannot be exceeded. Please check with your coach prior to registration. Every effort will be made to accommodate coach requests, but requests cannot be guaranteed. Coaches are given the opportunity to submit a roster with the names of players. The club cannot “link” up stray team members.  These rosters are guaranteed ONLY IF the players register before July 15th when registration closes.

What if I do not know my child's uniform size?

Don’t worry about uniform sizes. Uniforms are pre-ordered in bundles and the coach will distribute them as needed.

What if my child does not attend public school?

For transportation convenience, participants are grouped by neighborhood public elementary school boundary. On the registration form, please list the public school boundary where you would like your child to participate. Do not list private schools, preschools, home school or charter schools.

What if my daughter wants an all-girls team?

All-girls teams are only available to participants starting at the 2nd Grade age group (age 7 and older). You must select “All Girls” in the registration system or the league will assume you want a coed team.

What if my child is not placed on the team requested?

Please make sure you enter the correct information during registration. Age Group Coordinators organize teams using the information you provide, taking into consideration team size and age group guidelines. Every effort will be made to accommodate coach and friend requests you have listed, but requests cannot be guaranteed. We cannot make changes to rosters once teams are finalized.

When do games begin? When are games scheduled?

Fall season games are scheduled on Thursdays, Fridays (typically 5:45 and 6:30pm) and Saturdays (typically in the a.m.) starting in late August and ending in late October. Spring season games are scheduled on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from April to early June.  Schedules are typically available two weeks prior to season start.

When and where are practices held?

Coaches set their own practice times and locations. Coaches will notify players/parents of practice schedules.

When will I be contacted by my coach?

You will be contacted by your coach in mid-August. If you have not heard from your coach by then, please email your age group coordinator.

Can I register late?

Yes, but coach, friend and elementary school area requests will be honored only if space is available on the requested team.  Uniforms may not be available for late registrations until Spring season.

Why can't the club reuse uniforms year after year?

We have discussed this extensively.  It is not logistical.  We cannot collect 2200 uniforms at the end of the season, or wash and organize and account for missing ones the next season.  Uniforms pieces get lost.  They are worn by younger players to school, to the store, on vacations. They are worn and stained. We do not want to offer that to new players the next year.  We discussed a "Jr. Jazz" style jersey.  Still not logistical.  They are thick and hot when worn outside during games.  We would have to print numbers and 2 logos on both sides.  More expensive than a full uniform set.  We ARE looking into collecting jerseys and shorts to offer as a donation to those who want to travel internationally and share the sport of soccer with kids in other countries.  Look for info!

Who pays for the referees at Recreation games?

Our soccer club is privileged to be sponsored by Land-O-Frost. Among other things, Land-O-Frost makes our referee program possible by paying for our referees to receive annual training, paying our referees to ref our recreation games, and paying for our Ask the Ref nights which we schedule twice a year for the benefit of helping parents, players and coaches learn to appreciate and understand the rules of this game we all love.

While referees are not guaranteed at every game, our referee coordinator works hard to get 3rd grade and older games covered to provide the opportunity for referees and a better experience for all involved. Thank you for your patience as our newer referees learn their job.
