“One of my greatest coaches I had while playing soccer helped mold me into the person I am today. One practice Coach explained that he had lung cancer and would not be able to coach again. This was devastating to hear and broke our hearts. After a few years removed for the game, he made a successful comeback to reunite and coach the Chargers team he built. After his passing a few years later, I know he taught me priceless lessons about life, which I am forever grateful. He taught our team, life is hard and will have unforeseen events that you must deal with. Life is full of fun and to live each day enjoying your journey. Life has disappointments which we can choose to give up or battle through. I coach you should never give up on yourself, no matter what happens. That your teammates are more than players, they are relationships that are foundations to help build others to be the best they can be. Learn to be thankful for life and know we can accomplish greatness.”
